Learning is a cycle. From start to finish you gain wisdom, give it to others, and repeat.
In the studio, my ultimate goal is to share knowledge and educate future generations. First, I meet students where they are by evaluating the space and making immediate adjustments. Then I combine subject matter with the culture of the class and any current popular people or themes that students can relate to. Key to my method is honoring past and present figures of those that have inspired me and noting how they relate to students. Honoring my lineage gives my teaching clarity. This gives students the opportunity to dive into embodying dance for themselves and to learn by seeing and doing. The result is a room full of movers cheering each other on and eagerly awaiting the next dance class. My teaching enables students to begin the spontaneous path of discovery that bridges gaps and opens doors to new options and possibilities of life.
